November events

I can't believe October is already winding down. If you are out and about trick-or-treating please stop by. We have plenty of treats for the 21+ crowd! I am busy working on the new website, and in the meantime I've put together a very robust November calendar. There are lots of great tasting events to help you audition wines for your Thanksgiving table and upcoming holiday parties.

November Events:

  • November 1st: Kick off the month with the Friday Flight featuring Chianti! Join us to taste and learn about this classic Italian wine from 4:30 - 8pm.

  • Friday Flights will continue weekly - stay tuned for the theme each week (11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/22 and 11/29)

  • November 6th: Estelle Imports Tasting (5 - 7pm) - Chris Davis from Estelle Imports will take us on a journey through the wines of the Piedmont. He will be pouring Barbera, Nebiolo, Barbaresco and Barolo!

  • November 13th: Purple Hands Tasting (5 - 7pm) - Stop by for a tasting with Purple Hands. Due to the high cost of these wines there will be a $10 tasting fee that I will waive with the purchase of a bottle.

  • November 20th: Scenic Valley Vineyards Tasting (5 - 7pm) - We’re thrilled to host Oregon's Scenic Valley Vineyards. Winemaker Gabriel Jagle (who lives in the neighborhood) will be here pouring and guiding us through the wines.

  • November 27th: Prufrock Wines Tasting (5 - 7pm) - Wrap up the month with Brian Martin from Prufrock Wines, who will be pouring his top picks for Thanksgiving. Get ready to impress your guests with the perfect wines for your holiday feast!

We are also excited to announce the release of the 2023 Buckman Pinot Noir. I was at the winery yesterday and tasted the final blend; I am very pleased with the final result. With the shop in transition the release date got pushed back, but I will have it in the store before Thanksgiving.

The wine starts with a red-fruited nose with hints of spice. The palate is a mix of pretty red fruit and lifted acidity with a fuller mid-palate and integrated tannin to finish. The wine really is a great expression of the Willamette Valley that I am proud to sell.

With higher cost of goods and labor, the winery did raise the price a little, so the wine will be $21 this year. Bruce warned me the cost might rise, but I think the wine is excellent for a $21 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir with great vineyard pedigree.

My plan is to start bringing in cases on 11/19, so let me know what you are interested in and I'll set it aside.
